The Organization of Islamic Cooperation renewed its support to Palestine's right to defend Al-Quds in a statement it issued on the 52nd anniversary of the burning of Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa. It also confirmed the importance of protecting the heritage in the city, and all Islamic and Christian holy sites.
The OIC said that the occupation aims to Judaize Al-Quds and change its geographical and demographical nature, and isolate it from the other Palestinian cities; which is a great violation of the International Law and other relevant UN resolutions.
The OIC urged the international community to be more involved in the peace process basing its participation on the International Law and international resolutions to end the occupation. It also called for enabling the Palestinian people to practice its rights, including the right to return and self-determination, and establish its independent state on the borders of 1967 with Al-Quds as its capital.
