The Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper reported that the Israeli occupation acquiesced to the prisoners’ demands after Ziad Al-Nakhala’s threats of that Hamas might tend to a war to defend the prisoners. 

According to sources, the letters sent through the Egyptian mediator said that there might be escalation near the fence to form political pressure on the Israeli occupation, which made its prison’s administration to negotate with the hunger-striking prisoners and meet their demands of returning the conditions of detention to how they before the operation of ‘the Freedom Tunnel.
