Eliezer Toledano, the commander of the Southern Command, confirmed in an interview with Israel Hayom newspaper, that it is impossible to suffocate the Gaza strip, which has two million people. He added that he supports the improvement of the living and economic conditions of the strip.

The Israeli occupation deals with Gaza within two main strategies based on the guarantee of security for as long as possible, the improvement of the civil life in Gaza, and the deprivation of Hamas from its military abilities.

Regarding the Israeli soldiers captivated by Hamas, Toledano said that the Israeli occupation is concerned about solving this issue yet Hamas needs to understand that the occupation has a different vision.
