Occupation Hides Facts about Its Crimes in Return Marches

A joint human rights report by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights and the human rights organization B'Tselem revealed how the Israeli occupation government obliterated the facts about its crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip border, protecting military and political officials rather than taking action against those who set up a policy of shooting demonstrators.

The report, which the Government of the occupation claimed to be conducting on the return marches, said was "part of the fact-finding apparatus, and its primary objective was and continues to be the silencing of criticism abroad, so that the occupation can continue to apply the same policy without hindrance.

The report stated that the occupation had stated that it would investigate the demonstrations, because of the actions initiated against it by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, but had never considered the unlawful firing instructions issued to the security forces, nor the policy applied during the demonstrations, but focused only on the lower-ranking soldiers and only on the question whether they acted contrary to the same instructions, which were contrary to the law. "

More than 200 Palestinians were martyred and some 8,000 injured during the return marches launched in the besieged Gaza Strip, beginning in March 2018, lasting about a year and a half.
