The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that calm with the Gaza Strip started to melt and be replaced by a situation of growing tension.

Military newspaper commentator Yossi Jehosa stated that Hamas is dissatisfied with the progress of the settlement talks, shown by the firing of two missiles on the coast of Gush Dan and Hamas's many tests of firing rockets into the sea in the past.

The newspaper added that tension in the Gaza Strip was increased by the statements of Islamic Jihad Secretary-General Ziyad Al - Najala that if the prisoner on hunger strike Hisham Abu Hash died, it would treat the matter as a responsive assassination, which would bring the period of calm to an end.
