The so-called Occupation Municipality approved the construction of 3557 settlement units in the occupied city of Al-Quds, spread over five new schemes.
The Peace Now Movement said that the "occupation municipality" had no authority to endorse the plan, and indicated that 1465 new settlement units would be built near the settlements of Javat Hamatus and Har Homa, to link them, causing a disconnect between Palestinian neighbourhoods east of Al-Quds and Bethlehem, while 2092 more units would be built on the outskirts of the French hill area.
