More than half of the Palestinian prisoners inside Ofer prison are infected with COVID19, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Club. 

It noted that the prisons’ administration deliberately adopted this pandemic as a tool of repression to deprive the prisoners from their rights under the pretext of the pandemic outbreak inside the prisons. 

Prisoner Club also confirmed the occupation prisons’ administration’ policy of negligence to maintain preventive measures to protect the prisoners. 

It also mentioned that the prisons’ administration’s policy of hiding all information related to the prisoners and detainees led to the inability of any human rights organizations or official bodies to determine the real number of prisoners infected with COVID19 since its spread inside the prisons.
