Fakhri Abu Diab, Al-Quds researcher, to Safa agency revealed a new tunnel and excavations by the so - called Israeli Antiquities Authority and settlement associations under the Hebron door from the western side of the Old Town, to the Al-Buraq Wall west of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Abu Diab said that the excavations aimed at creating a tunnel to facilitate settlers' access to the mosque and the Al-Buraq Wall. Abu Diab added that the excavations carried out in complete secrecy because of the sensitivity and strategic importance of the targeted area and its proximity to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and were contrary to international law and UNESCO resolutions, which threatened to weaken buildings and visit history, in addition to destroying the holy economy, because of its frequent closure of shops in the old town.
