Israel's so - called "Nature and Gardens Authority" is planning to expand the so - called "National Park" to include east of the Christian Monastery lands on Mount Al-Taur in the occupied Al-Quds.

Through the project, the Nature and Gardens Authority seeks to swallow a large area of the lands of the Eastern Christian Churches, arguing that they will not harm the property of the church incorporated into the national park.

Rights groups confirmed that the scheme was part of a larger national strategy to "encircle" the Old City in Al-Quds by taking control of areas adjacent to East Al-Quds.
