The owners of dozens of houses and shops in Tirah in the occupied Palestinian interior in '48 received demolition orders that were frozen.
400 houses are threatened with demolition under the pretext of unlicensed construction, despite decisions by the Occupation Court to freeze demolition orders.
Sameh Al-Iraqi, the deputy mayor of Tira, said that demolition decisions were purely political and were part of retaliatory policies by Palestinians in the city. Al-Iraqi stressed that the municipality appealed against demolition decisions.
