Situation Report by PALM Strategic

The Israeli occupation forces launched, last night, a wide series of incursions against the West Bank's cities and villages. As a result, Nader Rayan; from Balata in eastern Nablus, Alaa Sheham; from Qalandiya in Al-Quds, and Sanad Al-Harbad; from Rahat in Negev, were killed. Also, several citizens were injured.  

In the same context, the Zionist forces arrested more than 20 Palestinians, including ex-prisoners, activists, and social personnel in light of their ongoing attempts to chase the popular work against the Israeli occupation, and pressure the families through night break-ins and arrests.

West Bank faced a series of violent clashes with the occupation; resulting in four Palestinians killed, last week. It also witnessed 86 resistance acts, including stabbing, shooting, and throwing of explosive charges and incendiary bottles; which resulted in 9 soldiers injured.

Those operations come in parallel with Zionist security efforts aiming to hold a meeting between the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Omer Barliv, the minister of Interior, to discuss some security issues and the coordination status between the Zionist services and the security forces of the Palestinian Authority in the coming period. It intersects with the Zionist holidays and the holy month of Ramadan, which is expected to be a hot month; a month of security tension.

In contrast, the Palestinian resistance factions prepare to commemorate the 30^th of March, which marks the Land Day. Their preparations include the activation of friction points along the Gaza borders, the building of a comprehensive strategy to support the Palestinians in the 1948 occupied cities and towns, the resuming of the use of the rough means of the popular resistance, and the organization of popular events adjacent to the apartheid wall.

Analysis and Insight of the Scene

• The cities of West Bank are facing a new revolutionary leap, which might get affected by the security operations practiced by the Israeli occupation in coordination with the Palestinian Authority. However, they soon recover and continue with a stronger will.
• The Israeli occupation has been practicing a harsh Judaizational attack against the cities and villages of occupied Negev since Al-Quds Sword Operation. It has become fiercer since the beginning of the current year in order to control the Arab areas and deter the Palestinian citizens. 
• The Israeli occupation exploits the urban organization and development to cover its Judaizational operations and destroy the Arab villages in occupied Negev. It has also added a new tool to the Judaizational methods, represented in the claims of that there are agricultural plans to plant the open areas and the lands of Negev in order to occupy them.
• The Zionist efforts converge in fighting the Palestinian presence the Arab villages, and the security and military operations in the cities of the occupied West Bank, as they fear the situation to explode in the coming confrontation, which is expected to be in Ramadan.

 

• The Israeli occupation seeks to mobilize the inner support through triggering intimidation of the coming confrontation, along with the occupation's outer efforts to warn from any upcoming operations.

Possible Scenarios: based on the aforementioned analysis, following is the expected:

1. The individual operations might continue in affecting the occupation, and heating the front of the West Bank and some of the Arab cities in the occupied territories. What supports this scenario is the continuity of the individual efforts in confronting the occupation in the West Bank, and the occupied cities' influence by the occupation's method of attack and withdrawal. This method drains the occupation in security and operational manners, and might cause losses among the occupation's soldiers and colonial settlers. It might also encourage the resistance work to extend during the coming period, which includes religious occasions and the start of Ramadan.
2. The Israeli occupation has the ability to confront the emerging updates in West Bank and the occupied territories in collaboration with the local committees. It is also able to activate the security coordination system to control the efforts of the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank. This scenario is supported by the Zionist efforts exerted in this regard.

In general, the first scenario seems more logical in light of the Palestinian popular mobilization against the Israeli occupation in West Bank and the Arab cities, in addition to the friction state resulting from the occupation's crimes and violations against the Palestinians.
