The Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported that the Israeli occupation army recommended at the political level not to issue a decision to assassinate Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in the Gaza Strip during this period.

This followed a speech by the military spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, Abu Obaidah, in which he threatened the occupation if Sinwar, or any other leader of the resistance, will be an unprecedented and usurped response in the region.
