The Ministry of Women's Affairs celebrated the graduation of the female trainees from two training programs, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry Mrs. Amira Haron and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zaim; a representative of Cinta Gaza Malaysia which funded the programs.
Ten winners of the first program "Women's Leadership in the literary field" were chosen to publish their stories and novels about the reality of the Palestinian women, their successes, and the difficulties they face due to the Israeli occupation.
In the second program "Documenting the Achievements of the Palestinian Women," ten success stories about the disabled women were chosen to be documented in this program, in appreciation of their role and the hardships they suffer from because of the Israeli blockade and war.
Haroun emphasized the importance and greatness of the Palestinian woman, whose heavy responsibilities are increasing, and said, "we are trying to provide programs that benefit those great women, and improve them political and economically."
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zaim, the director of PALM Strategic Initiatives Centre, spoke about the full support of Cinta Gaza Malaysia and the Palestinian and Malaysian people. He also said that those programs serve the Palestinian cause and its people, and expressed his happiness for this partnership with the Ministry of Women's Affairs, which seeks great efforts.
He also talked about the Palestinian women and their creativity, as he looked upon several symbols of the Palestinian women, who deserve support.
Dr. Nihad Sheikh Khalil, advisor to the Palestinian National Center for Women’s Research and Studies affiliated to the ministry and the supervisor of the Achievements Documentation Program, spoke about the nature of documentation and that it is nothing new except that documenting women’s models in Palestine is of great importance because it is a documentation of honorable history and struggle in wars and various situations because it may require new theories in sociology.
Also, recording women's examples of ways to overcome family conflicts helps crystallize a Palestinian vision to provide the necessary protection for women within the family and in light of the Quran's directives.
Dr. Abdel-Khaleq Al-Af, advisor to the Women's Leadership Program, spoke about the program, which targeted a group of Palestinian women writers to train them in order to produce a number of literary works that will be published later.
He thanked the Ministry staff and the Association of Writers, who cooperated and made great efforts to make this program succeed; headed by Dr. Abdel Fattah Abu Zaida.
