Naji Sarhan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, revealed that his ministry received promises from Qatar to rebuild a residential tower destroyed by the occupation forces in May 2021 aggression.
Sarhan told the “Palestine” newspaper that efforts were being made with the Qatar to begin rebuilding the first destroyed residential tower in the recent aggression, denying a slow supply of construction materials for Egyptian grant projects in the Gaza Strip.
Sarhan reported that the total number of residential towers targeted by the occupation in the recent aggression was 25 towers, four of which contained more than 10 floors, estimating the cost of rebuilding the destroyed one tower from US $ 3-5 million.
In the context, Sarhan reported the reconstruction of only 20% of all houses destroyed in May 2021 aggression against the Gaza Strip, and the repair of 70% of homes partially damaged, citing Israeli occupation pressure on donors to delay the reconstruction process.
