Bitter Health Reality For Oncology Patients in Gaza Strip

May 24, 2022 02:45 pm

Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, the Director General of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, said that the oncology patients in the Gaza Strip live in a bitter health reality that is far from their therapeutic rights.

In a statement, Abu Salmiya said that the arbitrary restrictions imposed by the occupation on the movement of patients through the Beit Hanoun borders threaten the lives of dozens of oncological patients transferred to hospitals in the West Bank and inside the occupied Palestinian territory in 1948. More than 35% of oncological patients have been on the waiting list for months to leave the sector and receive treatment, which led to many patients experiencing serious health complications that have lost some of their lives.

Abu Salmiya called the authorities concerned to put pressure on the occupation to stop its unethical actions against oncological patients.
