In the words of the Deputy Spokesman of the Secretary-General, the United Nations warned against missing the opportunity to implement the "two-State solution".

The warning followed remarks by US President Joe Biden during a press conference with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas in the occupied West Bank that "the option of a two-state solution is a distant goal."

"We have made it clear repeatedly before that if there is no progress towards the implementation of the two-State (Palestine and Israel) solution, the opportunity will be lost forever", the UN spokesman said.
