The former PM and Opposition Leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, stated that he won't respect the agreement that is being held between Lebanon and Israel, sponsored by the USA, about the Garish gas rig issue, which will affect Israel's security.

As long as Israel's power is based on its military power along with its political and strategic power, which are supposed to prevent wars, why is it considered a critical statement? There is no doubt that Iran and its deputy in Lebanon (Hezbollah) are both uniting in a definite encounter with Israel. But, the Garish gas rig within the scope of Lebanon, which is produced by foreign companies, will benefit the economy of Israel a lot. Also, it may postpone the definite encounter by increasing the power of the Lebanese crumbling economy to be a balance factor in the future against Hezbollah.

Thus, the success of the American mediation initiative headed by the deputy, Amos Hochstein, is a direct attempt to secure security and regional stability, especially in this period of universal crisis. On the other hand, Netanyahu's statement in breaking this agreement sponsored by the USA would thwart this agreement or postpone it. Therefore, it is necessary to confirm the economic water agreement between Israel and Lebanon to maintain Israel's power, as such an agreement would help it enhance its relations with Egypt and Jordan. Not only that, but it will also be a significant station for gas export to Europe.

If Netanyahu's government is established, it won't respect this agreement. But even though, we can't imagine Israel's government breaking such an important legal resolution and international agreement signed by the USA and thus putting itself at the risk of a military encounter without global support. In this context, Netanyahu's being wise enough (as he used to be) would be better.
