According to the Palestinian Prisoners Club, about 4,900 male and female prisoners are languishing in the Israeli occupation prisons, including 31 female prisoners in Al-Damon Prison, 160 children, and more than 1,000 administrative prisoners.

Among the prisoners, there are 2,350 convicted prisoners, 1016 administrative prisoners, 1,450 under arrest, 553 prisoners sentenced to life. Furthermore, the number of prisoner’ martyrs reached 236, since 1967, and more than 700 prisoners suffer from diseases of various degrees. In addition to 14 prisoners reside permanently in “Ramla Hospital”, and they have dangerous diseases and the injuries.

The number of old prisoners arrested before the signing of the Oslo agreement reached 23, and the number of prisoners who spent more than 20 years reached nearly 400, and they are known as the "deans of prisoners."
