During the provocative tour that the Israeli Minister of Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, conducted of the Negev desert prison, the inmates displayed a state of stress.

Since taking over the ministry, Ben Gvir has decided to close the prison bakery and has given orders to keep inmates' usage of restrooms and water to a minimal. Additionally, he stopped paying for the occupation government's cost of providing inmates with dental care, and he most recently made a ruling prohibiting the early release of administrative prisoners.

According to Bin Gvir, he "will work to stop the comfortable conditions and services provided by the government from being used against the prisoners and will continue this approach and policies against them, impose more conditions, and tighten procedures."
