Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that he is waging a war which he believes could turn into a historic opportunity to eliminate a large number of Palestinians.

Netanyahu stated that the destruction in Gaza was not a response to “Palestinian terrorism”, but rather part of a deliberate plan to displace the people of Gaza, as he addressed a group of reserve army officers.

He reaffirmed his objective of destroying Gaza, saying: "We are destroying Gaza entirely, and there should be no safe place for them to return to and live in."
