Israeli forces have intensified their bombardment of the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of dozens of Palestinians and injuries to many more over the past 24 hours, according to medical sources in Gaza hospitals. At least 61 people were reported killed, including 17 Palestinians who were waiting for food aid.
The Government Media Office in Gaza announced that between May 27 and today, 300 Palestinians have been killed and 2,649 injured while attempting to reach food distribution points referred to as the “American-Israeli mechanism.” The office described these sites as “death traps.”
Meanwhile, Gaza’s infrastructure has entered a stage of total collapse. The Municipality of Nuseirat in central Gaza announced a complete halt of all essential services as of Tuesday morning due to a lack of fuel needed to operate water wells, sewage treatment facilities, and waste collection vehicles. The municipality warned of an impending environmental and public health disaster that threatens the lives of thousands if the suspension of basic services continues.
