The United Nations has kept "Israel" on the blacklist of parties committing grave violations against children in conflict zones for the year 2024.
The report by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, titled "Children and Armed Conflict", which includes data from 2024, states that "Israel" remains on the blacklist this year as a party responsible for committing serious violations against children in armed conflicts.
The report confirmed that 8,554 grave violations were committed against 2,944 Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, by the Israeli army and settlers.
It noted that 951 Palestinian children were arrested by Israeli forces and that 27 children were used as human shields during military operations in the West Bank and Gaza.
The report also highlighted the presence of 1,561 children with disabilities, of whom 1,507 were injured by Israeli forces in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, and 54 by settlers.
It called for holding "Israel" accountable for these grave violations against children.
