The Center for Political and Development Studies revealed that Palestinian women are being subjected to systematic targeting and are forced to bear immense burdens amid the collapse of the humanitarian system.
In a report issued by the center, it stated that 70% of the war’s victims are women and children, and that more than 10,000 women have been killed since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023. Among them were 6,000 mothers who left behind over 19,000 orphaned children, according to data from UN Women.
The report also highlighted shifts in women's roles, noting that thousands have become sole providers for their families amid the destruction of infrastructure. Displaced women are also forced to perform strenuous tasks such as collecting firewood and baking bread manually. The report stressed that many women are giving birth under harsh conditions and without access to medical care.
The center called for an immediate end to the aggression, the deployment of specialized female medical teams, the provision of mobile clinics and mental health services, and ensuring women's representation in reconstruction efforts. It also urged the prosecution of the occupation for its crimes against women through the International Criminal Court.
