A video released by the Al-Qassam Brigades documenting an attempted capture of an Israeli soldier—who was ultimately killed and his weapon seized in Khan Younis—has provoked anger and shock across Israeli media platforms and among the public.

Channel 13 reporter Almog Boker criticized the army, saying: “This incident, in which reservist Sgt. Avraham Azulai was killed, shows once again that the Israeli army fails to learn lessons. How could no troops notice the gunmen running toward him, reaching him, and standing next to him after killing him?”

Israeli writer Zeev Rubenstein expressed frustration: “It’s unclear how they’re able to move so freely in the field, armed and filming—very frustrating.”

The Israeli site “Yehudim Mefachadim” concluded: “What does the Hamas video teach us? First, Israeli media lied—the soldier did not fight heroically as claimed, but simply tried to flee and was shot dead immediately.”
