The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the services of transporting blood units and their components to the wounded and patients are at risk of complete shutdown due to the depletion of essential supplies for drawing and transporting blood.

The ministry explained that 65% of the essential laboratory testing materials have run out, disrupting the medical teams’ ability to diagnose and follow up, while 53% of laboratory consumables and supplies have also reached zero, further aggravating the crisis of halted laboratory services in most hospitals.

It pointed out that basic tests used in emergency departments, intensive care units, and neonatal incubators have been completely depleted, and that tests for diagnosing infectious diseases have not been available since the beginning of the war, threatening the spread of epidemics and making it difficult to contain infections within hospitals and health centers.
