The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned that “childhood cannot survive” in Gaza City as Israel prepares to occupy the city.
UNICEF spokesperson Tess Ingram said:
"The world is sounding the alarm about the catastrophe that an intensified military assault on Gaza could bring for nearly one million people who are still there."
She explained that malnutrition and famine are weakening children’s bodies, while displacement deprives them of shelter and care, and the bombardment threatens their every movement.
