Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal said that the Israeli occupation bombed and destroyed five high-rise buildings in Gaza City within just 72 hours.

He added that the targeted buildings, each over 7 stories high, contained 209 apartments, with each apartment sheltering at least 20 people under the current emergency conditions. This has left more than 4,100 children, women, and elderly people homeless.

Basal pointed out that over 350 tents—each housing around 10 people—were also destroyed, meaning that about 3,500 people lost their last refuge.

He explained that around 550 families, or approximately 7,600 individuals, are now living in the open, deprived of the most basic necessities of life.
