UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said that the international community is not fulfilling its duty and has failed the Palestinians in Gaza.
Speaking at the opening of the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, on Monday, Türk stated that the mass killings carried out by “Israel” against Palestinian civilians in Gaza are causing indescribable suffering and destruction, while also preventing sufficient aid from reaching those whose lives could be saved.
He stressed that the Gaza Strip has become a graveyard as a result of the Israeli massacres, calling for maximum pressure to be exerted to achieve a ceasefire and secure the release of detainees.
