Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi (Eyal Zamir in earlier reports) has reportedly expressed doubts about the effectiveness of the ongoing military offensive in Gaza, citing the absence of a clear post-war strategy
According to military correspondent Yoav Zitun from Yedioth Ahronoth, Zamir is said to be frustrated by Prime Minister Netanyahu and Finance Minister Smotrich’s reluctance to make long-term decisions regarding Gaza's future.
Zitun added: “Zamir is almost pleading with the political leadership to clarify what they actually want from continuing operations in the same areas, only to later blame the army for failure.”
This marks a growing rift between the military and political leadership amid mounting international criticism and domestic pressure.
