On Saturday, the Israeli army bombed three schools belonging to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza City, displacing thousands of internally displaced people who had been sheltering there. With no safe place left in the city, they were left unable to find an alternative refuge.
Adnan Abu Hasna, the media advisor for UNRWA, said: “This is not the first time that the occupation has targeted the agency’s schools. A total of 280 schools have been struck, and 90% of them have been completely or partially destroyed.”
He added that 22 central clinics had also been targeted, and all of the agency’s food distribution centers were destroyed, with around 90% sustaining severe damage.
