The Gaza Center for Human Rights stated that the Israeli occupation is working to engineer a demographic shift in the Gaza Strip through forced displacement orders imposed on civilians.

In a press release, the center explained that the occupation forces continue their military campaign on Gaza City through intensive aerial and artillery bombardment, in addition to the daily detonation of more than 15 booby-trapped vehicles loaded with tons of explosives, along with unlawful evacuation orders. This, it stressed, reflects a systematic Israeli policy aimed at creating a demographic transformation that would erase Palestinian presence in Gaza and North Gaza governorates, which were home to more than 1.3 million people.

It further noted that the escalating military assault, ongoing for more than 40 days, has forced nearly 700,000 people to crowd into an area of just 10 km² in the western part of Gaza City.
