The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that one in three children in the Gaza Strip went a full day without any food in the past 24 hours due to the lack of food supplies caused by the Israeli blockade.
It noted that the price children are paying for their childhood in Gaza is unbearable, as many are being forced into begging or child labour.
The agency based its statement on data from the IRC, which reported that 70% of children suffer from sleep problems, and one in five kids is isolated or silent.
It noted that only 1% of households in the Gaza Strip are considered "food secure," while most households with children under the age of five reported clear signs of malnutrition.
