The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the loss of communication with the medical staff at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, following Israeli drone strikes around the facility.
The ministry said that Israeli drones targeted the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, confirming that it is impossible for any patient to reach the hospital due to the ongoing Israeli bombardment. It also noted that 12 newborn infants are trapped inside the complex.
The occupation has destroyed or put 38 hospitals out of service, targeted 96 primary healthcare centers, destroyed or damaged 197 ambulances, and carried out 788 direct attacks on healthcare facilities and personnel. Additionally, 1,670 medical staff have been killed while carrying out their humanitarian duty.
