Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held an extended meeting in New York with U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, to discuss Trump’s 21-point plan to end the war on Gaza.
According to informed sources, the amendments Netanyahu demanded during the recent talks make the plan difficult to interpret and implement, as it lacks clarity and contains no concrete mechanisms of execution, other than the release of Israeli captives and the entry of humanitarian aid.
Israeli and American media outlets reported tangible progress in the discussions between Netanyahu and Trump’s envoys. An Israeli official stated that the two sides are “very close to reaching understandings.”
Netanyahu is scheduled to leave New York for Washington, where he will meet President Trump at the White House.
