Rose Ekma, founder and director of MiGreat, a refugee rights group and participant in the Global Flotilla to Break the Siege on Gaza, confirmed that the flotilla is 150 nautical miles from Gaza.
She noted that "this area is known as the point where Israel has routinely hijacked boats." She called on Israel to lift the blockade on Gaza, stop the genocide, and allow food into the country, as the Palestinian people are suffering from hunger.
Last Friday, the Maghreb Steadfastness Flotilla announced that unidentified military aircraft had flown over its ships for the second time in a week while it was in Greek territorial waters.
The Steadfastness Flotilla includes the Freedom Flotilla Federation, the Global Gaza Movement, the Steadfastness Flotilla, and the Malaysian organization Sumud Nusantara. It has more than 500 activists from 40 countries on board 50 ships.
