Wael Nawwar, coordinator of the Global Sumud Flotilla, reported that unidentified military ships, without lights, circled around the flotilla vessels and surrounded the lead ship.

Nawwar stated that the flotilla declared a state of emergency due to continuous drone flights and jamming of navigation systems on board.

He added, “Any humanitarian flotilla has the right to sail in international waters, and intercepting it constitutes a war crime.” He expected the Israeli occupation to begin intercepting the ships from a distance of 150 nautical miles, emphasizing, “If any ship is intercepted, the rest of the flotilla will continue sailing toward the Gaza Strip.”

The "Sumid Flotilla" includes over 500 activists from 40 countries aboard 50 ships.
