Gaza Municipality stated that international and local estimates indicate that nearly 500,000 civilians — most of them children, women, and the elderly — are currently living in Gaza City under extremely harsh humanitarian conditions.
In its statement, the municipality explained that these civilians are suffering from a lack of sufficient food, scarcity of clean water, absence of basic healthcare, and are enduring systematic, large-scale bombardment and destruction.
It added that this situation not only threatens their lives, but also leaves devastating psychological effects — especially on children growing up in an atmosphere of fear and trauma, and on women who bear double the burdens in the absence of protection and safety.
