The Sharm El-Sheikh negotiations on halting the Israeli war against the Gaza Strip are witnessing rapid developments and signs of unprecedented regional and international momentum, as high-level officials from influential Arab and Islamic countries join the talks. Israeli estimates are also increasing regarding the possibility of reaching an agreement in the coming days.

Senior Hamas official Izzat al-Risheq welcomed the participation of the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, as well as the head of Turkish intelligence, in the ongoing round of negotiations, stressing that this regional involvement “narrows the margin of maneuver for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to continue the aggression or sabotage the talks.”

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz quoted Israeli security sources as saying that there is a “strong likelihood of progress in the Gaza negotiations and the possibility of reaching an agreement within days.” It also reported that the United States is showing an unprecedented level of commitment to finalizing the deal, with President Donald Trump personally involved in following up on the negotiations.
