The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that over 15,600 patients in the Gaza Strip are in urgent need of medical evacuation to receive treatment outside the enclave, amid the collapse of the healthcare system due to the ongoing Israeli war.
In a press statement, the organization stressed the need to reopen medical corridors to allow patients to reach hospitals outside Gaza, emphasizing the importance of strengthening disease surveillance amid the deteriorating health and environmental conditions.
The WHO also explained that more than 15,000 people have lost their limbs as a result of severe injuries sustained during the assault, calling for immediate international action to provide medical care and essential aid to save the lives of the wounded and sick.
