The Palestinian Center for Prisoners’ Defense reported that 1,300 detainees from the Gaza Strip remain in Israeli occupation prisons, with the vast majority classified as “unlawful combatants.”

The center explained that Gaza detainees have not received proper legal follow-up and have been largely neglected by official and international institutions since the beginning of the genocide war on the Strip. It stressed that any delay in legal proceedings encourages the occupation to escalate abuses and enact unjust laws and decisions that prolong the detention of Gaza prisoners.

Yesterday, 1,700 detainees from Gaza were released from Israeli prisons as part of the prisoner exchange deal with the Palestinian resistance.
