Adnan Abu Hasna, media advisor for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), announced the resumption of the educational process in Gaza for nearly 300,000 Palestinian students, after a two-year suspension due to the Israeli war of extermination.
Abu Hasna stated that the agency “has developed comprehensive plans to resume education after two years of disruption,” noting that around 10,000 students will receive education inside some shelter centers, while the rest will study through a virtual learning system, with the participation of around 8,000 teachers.
Most UNRWA and government schools had been turned into shelters for displaced people due to the war, as Israeli forces destroyed 172 government schools in Gaza, damaged another 118 to varying degrees, and destroyed more than 100 UNRWA-run schools.
