The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) stated that the Gaza Strip has become the most dangerous place in the world for children, noting that around one million children are suffering from daily horrors that threaten their survival.

Edward Beigbeder, UNICEF’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, warned that the nutrition and health situation in Gaza is nearing total collapse. He added that the recent ceasefire provided children in Gaza with a temporary chance at life, but the amount of aid entering the Strip remains far too limited.

According to UNICEF data, more than 64,000 children have been killed or injured since the war began, while at least 58,000 have lost one or both parents. The organization stressed that these figures do not reflect the full extent of the tragedy, as the psychological and physical suffering endured by children will leave lasting scars for generations to come.
