The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said that “Israel” continues the genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, but at a less conspicuous pace and with a new methodology based on daily breaches of the ceasefire through limited strikes that every few days escalate into wide-scale bombing campaigns targeting civilians.
The Monitor pointed out that the occupation army has killed 219 Palestinians, including 85 children, since the start of the ceasefire agreement — a killing rate of more than 10 Palestinians per day — and wounded about 600 others. It noted that artillery shelling, gunfire, and the destruction of buildings recurred over the past two days and into this morning in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis in the southern Strip and in Gaza City. This, the Monitor said, indicates that Israel is seeking to entrench a new reality that allows it to continually carry out military operations in the area it controls in the Gaza Strip — an area that represents about 50% of the Strip’s territory — effectively removing it from the ceasefire equation.
The Monitor warned that this division practically leads to the dismantling of the geographic unity of the Strip, turning it into an uninhabitable area and pushing the population toward forced displacement as the only option for survival.
