The International Foundation for Solidarity with Palestinian Prisoners (Tadamon) stated in its monthly report that this year has witnessed a serious escalation against Palestinian prisoners.
It added that in October alone, 533 cases of arrest and re-arrest were recorded in the West Bank and Jerusalem, including children, women, and former prisoners. The month also saw the issuance and renewal of 669 administrative detention orders against Palestinians, among them activists and journalists.
In addition, more than 400 children were arrested—some subjected to torture and violent interrogation—and 53 female prisoners remain in detention. The occupation also continues to hold 1,205 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip under the classification of “unlawful combatant.”
October also recorded the death of three prisoners as a result of torture and medical negligence, raising the number of prisoners who have died since October 7, 2023, to 81, and bringing the total number of martyr prisoners since 1967 to around 318.
