Israeli occupation forces forced three Palestinian families from the town of Silwan to evacuate their homes by force, in preparation for seizing them in favor of settler organizations.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, the forces stormed the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood south of Al-Aqsa Mosque and closed the roads leading to it before beginning a forced evacuation that targeted the homes of the Shweiki and Odeh families. During the raid, Israeli soldiers assaulted the residents, while Asmahan al-Shweiki collapsed after being forcibly removed from her home and was transferred to the hospital as her health deteriorated.
Around 750 Palestinians from 87 families live in the neighborhood, all of whom face the threat of eviction amid an organized campaign to seize properties and expand settlements in the heart of Silwan, just meters away from Al-Aqsa Mosque.
