The European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, said that humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip “must flow like a flood, not drop by drop.”

Lahbib noted that Palestinians are still being killed daily despite the ceasefire agreement. She pointed out that she visited Egypt two weeks ago but was not allowed by Israel to enter Gaza, and that hundreds of aid trucks are being held at the Rafah border crossing.

She stressed that relief workers face numerous administrative obstacles in delivering aid to the Gaza Strip.
