Doctors Without Borders warned that children in the Gaza Strip are dying from cold exposure and called on Israel to allow an increase in the entry of humanitarian aid to help Palestinians withstand severe weather conditions.

The organization said in a statement that a 29-day-old infant died at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza just two hours after arriving at the pediatric ward supported by Doctors Without Borders, due to a severe drop in body temperature.

It added that its teams continue to record high rates of respiratory infections, which are expected to increase throughout the winter, posing a serious risk to children under the age of five.
