The United Nations announced that the famine in Gaza has ended, while the situation remains critical with severe levels of food insecurity.
International and UN organizations confirmed that the improvement in food conditions in Gaza is not dramatic, and that there are areas still suffering from a lack of access to aid. The situation is expected to remain dangerous until April 16, 2026.
Doctors Without Borders stated that the food available in Gaza since the start of the ceasefire agreement is limited, and that the types of food available do not meet basic human nutritional needs, as meat, fish, and poultry are largely unavailable except with great difficulty.
Media advisor of the agency, Adnan Abu Hasna, stressed that 1.6 million Palestinians are suffering from food insecurity, and that the improvement in humanitarian relief in Gaza is minimal and not a dramatic improvement.
