The Prisoners’ Media Office reported that female prisoners in Damon Prison are facing severe and ongoing escalation, including violent raids on sections, forced removal of their hijabs, and physical assaults.

According to the office, based on eyewitness testimonies, occupation forces carried out brutal repression targeting the prisoners’ rooms, forcing them into the yard, making them sit on the ground, removing their hijabs, and beating them, particularly on the legs. Dogs and sound grenades were also used, resulting in injuries among the prisoners.

The testimonies indicated that this was the fourth such raid in December, without any justification. They also highlighted harsh detention conditions, including open windows in extremely cold weather, cold water in bathrooms, and poor quality and quantity of food.

The Prisoners’ Media Office called on human rights and humanitarian organizations to urgently intervene to stop the escalating violations against the female prisoners in Damon Prison.
