The Israeli channel i24 revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is preparing to brief his ministers with a firm position opposing progress toward the second phase of the agreement, despite strong pressure exerted by Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, without meeting Israeli conditions.
Netanyahu has set the recovery of the body of Israeli captive “Ran Guley” as a fundamental condition for moving to the next phase. This issue prompted the dispatch of a security delegation to Cairo yesterday in an attempt to resolve it. In addition, the absence of prospects for disarming the resistance—particularly Hamas—is another pretext preventing the formation of the proposed multinational force to administer the Gaza Strip.
